Welcome to our first ever BW! This BW brings a plethora of huge updates and goodies for you all.
BW stands for biweekly. Every two weeks we'll be making important updates to the forum to enhance your experience and fix or revise current issues. The average month will consist of one large update and one smaller update. These updates will occur every other weekend and will usually be made late at night or early in the morning to avoid interrupting activity.
We'd also like to kickoff our first weekend with a bunch of new events courtesy of Mr. Jack and Alusion.
Designers and non-designers alike are encouraged to participate in our Signature of the Week (SotW) event. Designers participating in SotWs are challenged to create the best signature that fits the theme properly. You may as well participate, even if you don't win you are guaranteed one credit as a consolation prize!
Also, everybody is encouraged to participate in our first ever caption contest. Express your sense of humor in this competition by posting the most witty or humorous caption for the posted image.
The title says it all; duel other artists in designing battles in a brand new board; the Artistic Arena. Designers can participate in battles amongst other designers in this forum. The genres of art that may be battled upon are not limited - any kind of art applies, e.g. design, photography, drawing, etc. Alusion, our current graphics moderator, will also be in charge of this new board.
Another new board has been created: Extended Requests. The Extended Requests board is an addition to the Code Requests board. In this new board, clients may purchase custom codes that require more time and effort.
A customer may request several cool and unique things here, such as codes that require database access. We'll also allow you to use one of our databases (for an extra cost) if you can't supply your own.
So, if you want something amazing done (and you can afford it), try the new board out! Proceeds will be transferred via paypal and may either go to DnT Resources or the creator of the code.
A new feature has been coded (by Devin) to organize our collection of codes for ProBoards® and ease the process of finding codes, our very own Code Index!
Viewers can choose to view all of the codes, only the featured codes, or a select category of codes. Users can also order the current listing of codes by several different fields (code name, code creator, hits, and rating). Viewers can also see what each code does before clicking on it by hovering over the code name and reading the description!
Registered users will now be able to "rate" the current code they are viewing. The users will have an option to give the code a "thumbs up" or a "thumbs down". This will help viewers decide which codes they should try out first.
Also, a dynamic search feature has been added. The search feature is 100% live, which means viewers won't have to click any buttons - the script will search for codes while they are typing their entry. Viewers can search by the code name, the creator's username, the creator's display name, and codes that are rated above a certain integer.
With a new feature as large as this, there may be some bugs. If you come across a bug, we'd greatly appreciate you telling us about it in the Feedback board.
No, that isn't a typo! Experienced coder Wrighty has joined our team of moderators, and will be the new coding moderator. Wrighty is a very popular member of the ProBoards® community. You may know him best for his reign as coding moderator at ProBoards® Support, or for his website, wImg.
The staff has discussed the matter (which ended in a unanimous decision) and Wrighty will become moderator when he returns from his trip on Monday, April 13th. Cheers!
After this huge update, what could be next? Well we'd like to keep that a secret, but we won't stop wowing you anytime soon. One feature that will most likely be released in our next update is an advanced premade and template index similar to the code index.
We thank your continued support and we'd love to hear what you think about these updates.
Regards,
DnT Resources Staff
